The Peculiar Truth about the Girl in the Polka Dot Dress

- June 4, 1968: While campaigning to become the Democratic nominee for President of the United States, Robert F. Kennedy was assassinated.

- The crime took place in the kitchen of the Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles.

- The shooter, Sirhan Sirhan, an American whose family was from the Middle East, was immediately subdued.

- In media interviews that took place within the hour after the assassination, eyewitnesses saw a girl in a polka dot dress in the kitchen next to the gunman.

- She was later seen running down a fire escape and said, “We did it! We killed Kennedy!”

- Los Angeles police claimed to be on the lookout for the mysterious young woman. But in reality their investigation into the girl was far from thorough, to put it mildly.

- The next day, a gentleman gave the FBI information that might have pertained to the girl in the polka dot dress.

- He claimed that he met a young woman on the morning of June 4, hours before the assassination, in the hotel's coffee shop. The young lady insinuated there would be an attempt on RFK's life that evening.

- The gentleman told the FBI she fit newspaper descriptions of the girl in the polka dot dress (although she did not wear a polka dot dress at that time).

- She also told the gentleman she might travel north to San Jose, CA to visit the headquarters of the Rosicrucians.

- The girl in the polka dot dress was never found or identified, despite decades of investigations by independent journalists.

- The Rosicrucians are a secular order of mystics “who study and practice the Natural Laws governing the Universe.”

- They’re not a religion per se. They’re an obscure and secretive spiritual organization.

- Their headquarters is in the heart of the city of San Jose. Yet the group had always maintained small meeting groups in major cities around the world.

- Including in Los Angeles. Anyone could join.

- Sirhan Sirhan was a Rosicrucian.
